Linfield F.C. is a Northern Irish football club, whose home ground is Windsor Park in Belfast. The club was founded in March 1886 in an area of south Belfast known as Sandy Row by workers at the Ulster Spinning Company's Linfield Mill.Originally known as Linfield Athletic Club, the team initially played on an area of land located at the back of the mill owned by the company, which was known as the Meadow. They moved to Windsor Park in 1905 to accommodate bigger crowds. The club was already established as the most successful in Ireland, and over the following 130 years Linfield have won the League title a record 56 times (and were the first to win the League in its inaugural season in 1890–1891) , and are one of four clubs, the others being Cliftonville, Glentoran and Lisburn Distillery, who have retained membership of the League since its formation in 1890. The club has lifted the Irish Cup a record 44 times, the Irish League Cup a record 10 times, and has been all-Ireland champions (excluding all-Ireland league titles before 1921) on four occasions – 1962, 1971, 1981 and 2005.
